Maihiihi School is a full primary school for students in Years 0 to 8, located 21 kilometres east of Otorohanga.
We currently have a roll of between 65-70 students. We have competent, experienced staff, including four teachers and three teacher aides. We are proud of our physical environment: large grounds, two playgrounds, two flying foxes, a heated swimming pool, several turf areas, a scooter track, large covered sandpit and a native bush area.
Maihiihi School teaches and encourages young people to be confident, connected, actively involved lifelong learners.

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Maihiihi school sits proudly within the Maihiihi community. We encourage students to reach their potential, seeking academic excellence as well as learning important life skills.
L = Lead/Live, E = Excellence, A = Attitude, R = Respect & Resilience, N = Nothing Great is Easily Won
Maihiihi students are communicators, researchers, thinkers, risk takers, team players and self managers who learn across the curriculum, both as independent individuals and as collaborators.
We value all who are part of our school; our students who are the heart of our school, the staff who implement teaching and learning with high expectations for progress, and the Maihiihi whānau and community, including our capable Board of Trustees. We value our partnerships. Working together, we can build student success.
At Maihiihi we foster life skills so that our students can move on to their secondary education with a strong degree of independence. We aim to provide a learning environment that motivates and engages students so that they are more likely to travel through life with a sense of empowerment.
We welcome all enquiries from new families. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like to meet, have a look around, and consider Maihiihi as the place of education for your children.
Ngā mihi,
Lisa Smith
